Archived from groups: alt.sys.pc-clone.compaq Hi everyone, Hoping someone here can help. I'm trying to dig up the front panel connector assignments for a 'PWA-Hendrix' motherboard. The original Compaq part number was 010697-101. It has since been replaced (or was replaced) with another type of motherboard, HP part number is 174535-001. Please note that this HP part number, I'm relatively certain, does.not.
refer to the original Hendrix board used in this PC. I've managed to establish that the board came out of a Compaq DeskPro EPor EC series, or possibly an EVO. I cannot find any technical specs that show the front panel header pin assignments, anywhere. I've already checked through most of the service docs for the EP and EC series.
Or at least, nothing that relates to this particular board (e.g. The technical service manual has pinouts for the front panel, but nothing that even vaguely relates to the labelling on the board).
The front panel header is labelled 'J37' on this board, right next to J40 which is labelled 'SCSI Led'. The board has 4 PCI slots, no ISA, 2 DIMM, and is a socket 370. I'm guessing it's going to turn out to be a PCChips or a MSI board, relabelled for HP.
But which one? Anyone give me a clue as to who made the Hendrix board? And the model number? Or the pin assignments?
I would be very grateful for any help. THAT IS A MITAC MADE MOTHERBOARD. MADE FOR COMPAQ. VARIOUS MODELS CAME WITH THE MOTHERBOARD AND ARE VARIOUS MODELS OF THE SAME. Ch instruments.
YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THE 'POSIBLE DRIVERS' FROM COMPAQ. THE MAIN DIFFERENCES ARE THE CHIPSET. CHECK IF INTEL 82810 OR 82810E. THE 81810 SUPPORTS UP TO 100 BUS / MEANS IT CAN USE UP TO 750 OR MORE SPEED CPUS. THE 82810E IS CAPABLE OF 100 AND 133 BUS / MEAN CAN USE CPUS UP TO 866 OR A BIT MORE. BUT DEPENDS OF THE BIOS. USUALLY THE CHIPSETS I HAVE SEE ONLY SUPPRT UP TO 512K SDRAM MEMORY.
Via Motherboard Manual
IN THAT BOARD ARE TO BE TWO 256 SDRAM CHIPS. MOST CASES MUS BE DOUBLE SIDED CHIP MEMORY / 8 CHIPS PER SIDE. CAN CHECK IS HAVE ONE SINGLE 512K 16 CHIPS DOUBLE SIDED SDRAM MEMORY USING ONLY ONE RAM SLOT. THE DOWN IS ONLY FOR ANY FURTHER CONTAC ABOUT IT AND I MAY INCLUDE LATEST LINKS I HAD FOUND. I GET THIS KING OF OLD BOARDS TO MAKE THEM TO WORK FOR NON PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS. OR JUST PEOPLE WITH NONE ENOUGH MONEY TO BUY A NEW COMPUTER. WILL INCLUDE LINKS IF EMAIL ME A NOTE ABOUT.

I'm coming upon a few of these boards. I'm not having much luck with updating BIOS. Any good links for the Hendrix boards?
I have a Compaq Motherboard I am trying to move to a new case. The MOBO does not have enough notations on it for me to know which connectors to plug the different plugs from the case into (Power LED, Reset Switch, HD LED, etc.) Can anyone help me find the specs.
Here are the full numbers off the motherboard: CT: P36392NM4JOSG CPQ Assy No: 010945-101 CPQ Spare No: 174535-101 There is a bar code number - 352N4P02LSQ PWA: PWA Hendrix Mother BD P/N: 01 Compaq will not help me because the board is in a new case. Any help would be appreciated. I need the pin locations for the connectos before I can continue (full motherboard specs./manual would be a real bonus). tsg=welcome/tsg Wow, you don't make it easy, even with the info you provided!! I thought what you provided would have made finding the details pretty easy, but, it most certainly didn't!!! Can you provide the BIOS or Serial number of the system.
At the least, give us the make and model of the compaq. I was able to find ( I think) that the motherboard has an 810e chipset.
Janie Hendrix Mother
If that is the case, then is your system an: iPAQ C500; Evo D300 Small Form Factor P500 or P733; iPAQ Legacy-Free C500; Deskpro EN Series SFF P450+, P500, P533, P600 or P667; Deskpro EP Series a/C466, a/C500, a/P500E, a/P550E, a/P600E, a/P667E, a/P733E, P450+, P500, P533, P600 or P667? If it is not one of the above, then defintiley provide the details I requested above.
Well, therein lies the problem. This mobo was an incorrect shipment from Compaq. The shipment was supposed to be a warranty replacement DAT tape drive for a server and they sent this instead. I called them back to tell them I was havving a heck of a time getting this mobo to accept tapes They sent another replacement for the tape drive (this time it really was a DAT drive) and told me to keep the mobo. I had a case sitting around so I am trying to throw a computer together for my son with some extra parts from the shop. I thought this would be easy too. Since I am not certain of where to plug in the different connectors I haven't even tried to power up this thing to see if it posts.
OK, I might have been able to narrow it down a bit.
